Hi, I'm Daz aka Morthren, welcome to my channel. I make videos mostly to do with transportation, particular the equipment and infrastructure that makes that possible. I also like to explore abandoned and derelict buildings and structures, there is something about disused and obsolete infrastructure that gives a sense of how times once were and how it has changed over the years. If you like my videos, please give them a thumbs up - comments good and bad are always welcome... don't forget to subscribe so you don't miss my latest upload. Thanks!

Battersea Power Station - the New Northern Line Extension
Переглядів 6 тис.2 роки тому
Others were first to cover the new Northern Line Extension to Nine Elms and Battersea Power Station when it opened on Monday 20th September 2021, so a week later we take a calmer and brief look at the new extension then the power station itself. Battersea Power Station was a coal fired power station built in 1933, it has been a feature of the London skyline for nearly 90 years. One overlooked f...
Cultural Vandalism? Great Musgrave Bridge
Переглядів 3,4 тис.2 роки тому
This is a historic railway bridge on the B6259 in Great Musgrave in Cumbria, England. Built over 150 years ago, It crosses the former section of the Eden Valley Railway that last saw trains back in the 1950s. Highways England recently caused some controversy in its decision to infill the bridge with concrete as part of a maintenance program on historic railway structures in England. It has been...

ABANDONED 35 years ago! - Pripyat
Переглядів 4,8 тис.3 роки тому
I take a look around Pripyat in Ukraine, the former soviet city abandoned following the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant accident on the 26th April 1986. The town began evacuating the following day and has been uninhabited ever since. #Chernobyl #Pripyat #Ukraine
LANDSLIP on railway!
Переглядів 6 тис.3 роки тому
LANDSLIP on railway - With a lot of heavy rain over the last couple of months, the ground has become saturated. This has taken its toll on 150 year old railway cuttings and embankments which are starting to crumble. Several landslips have happened in the South East of England in January 2021, this one resulted in the closure of the Chatham Main Line between Gillingham and Sittingbourne for just...
UK Coronavirus Lockdown!
Переглядів 6 тис.4 роки тому
April 1st, 2020, life in the UK is very different to what it was a month ago before the ongoing Covid-19 Coronavirus outbreak. There are restrictions on travel with the advice to travel only if you are a key worker or if it is essential. Stores, pubs, cinemas, restaurants, electrical stores and pretty much any place where people gather are all out of bounds. Public transport has been scaled bac...
ELEVATED industrial Steam Railway
Переглядів 67 тис.4 роки тому
This is a former industrial 2’ 6” (762mm) narrow gauge railway once part of the Bowaters Paper Company in Sittingbourne, Kent in the UK. The railway was used to haul materials and personnel between the two mills located in Sittingbourne and Kemsley, then to, from and around Ridham Dock. It was closed in 1969 after it was deemed more expensive to run than transporting goods by road. The lower pa...
DISUSED Weymouth Harbour Tramway
Переглядів 195 тис.4 роки тому
This is the long disused Weymouth Quay or Harbour Tramway. Built in 1865, it used to run services from London Waterloo on the South Western Main Line to Weymouth Quay with passengers for the Channel Island Ferries. The last scheduled passenger service was in 1987. The last trains to use the line were rail-tours back in 1994 and 1999. The line was officially placed into temporarily out of use st...
ABANDONED Chatham Docks Railway & Radioactive Land
Переглядів 89 тис.4 роки тому
This is the abandoned railway that leads to the former Chatham Docks site in Gillingham. It has been covered by others on UA-cam but I thought I would do my own take on it. Chatham Docks is on the River Medway and in the last 10 years has slowly undergone redeveloped into apartment blocks and an Asda Superstore. A small part of the docks still exists which is rumoured to be closing in 2025. The...
RAILTOUR to Grain and Angerstein Wharf
Переглядів 50 тис.4 роки тому
Usually only carrying freight, the Isle of Grain line is situated in Kent and terminates at an aggregate works and recently a new oil terminal. The oil terminal provides aviation fuel for London's airports, a lot better than transporting it in road tankers! Angerstein Wharf is an aggregate works in South East London and features one of Londons only foot crossings. In this video, In April 2019, ...
Worlds LONGEST pier! - Southend Pier & Railway
Переглядів 141 тис.5 років тому
This is Southend-on-Sea, home of the longest pleasure pier in the world! The reason the pier was built was to enable boats to be able to dock at low tide. Southend has large mudflats so when the tide is out, it's not very deep for about a mile. The original pier was opened in 1830 and was made from wood. It was extended several times and by 1848, it was the longest pier in Europe at 1.3 miles (...
RIPPED UP! Rushenden Pier Railway, Isle of Sheppey
Переглядів 127 тис.5 років тому
This is the Rushenden Pier Branch off the Sheerness Line on the Isle of Sheppey. The branch runs off the Sheerness Line near Queenborough, through the former Invicta Marchant Bar steelworks (formally Queenborough Rolling Mill), then onwards to the Rushenden Pier/Jetty on the River Swale. This steelworks actually used to process old railway tracks and turn them into steel concrete reinforcement....
What is Samphire Hoe?
Переглядів 139 тис.5 років тому
This is Samphire Hoe in Dover, Kent. It is a creation from the excavated chalk from construction of the channel tunnel, 4.9 million cubic metres of it! It is located at the bottom of a section of the White Cliffs of Dover know as Shakespeare Cliff. This section of the cliff already has a railway tunnel that was built in 1844 which is part of the South Eastern Main Line. To build this tunnel, a ...
WALKING the Rotherhithe Road Tunnel (NOT recommended)
Переглядів 75 тис.5 років тому
This is the Rotherhithe Road Tunnel in London. It crosses under the River Thames between Rotherhithe and Limehouse. It was constructed between 1904 and 1908 opening in June of that year. It's quite rare in that you can actually walk through it unlike the Blackwell or the Limehouse Link Tunnels. In September 2018, it was assessed the ventilation system was inadequate and needs upgrading. Transpo...
They EXIST! London's Other Railway Foot Crossings
Переглядів 91 тис.5 років тому
From my recent video of the imminent closure of one of London's only open foot crossings, a few people commented that London does have more than one foot crossing, and indeed it does! Maybe not so close to Metropolitan London as the Angerstein Wharf foot crossing in Charlton/Greenwich but still in Greater London nonetheless. In this video, I visit four gated railway foot crossings - one each in...

Lucky you got to explore before it was torn down
Did you got stuck at the end?
Had the same yesterday and thought I had a bad leak until looking into it. Thank god it’s normal that the air con does this. It was a humid evening as well
Thanks for filming this bit of railway history
Ka ma ciu ciu 😊
It’s a real shame that it was closed down. So much of the amazing history lost

Exellent😊
Great video but maybe a human cut the wires of the elevator inside the shaft???
Mothballed I would say ! Not closed !
My fear of darkness when no one is around could never go in a abounded place. I would also never ride a elevator without any engineers around because I have a fear of getting stuck and not being rescued. I sometimes only ride elevators that are modern and fixed regularly or I would nope it and just leave or take the stairs If there are stairs and a elevator I take stairs but sometimes I make exceptions if it’s a cool elevator I did once at a hotel hard rock. It was a glowing mirror so I took that every time because staff was around and it was cool. I also have a fear of being stuck in small places or somewhere alone stuck in a big place myself
I’m sure lots of people hate elevators sometimes
Geoff marshall took a cab ride on this line.
Love that voice say on 2 (Level 2) 1:43
Thanks man 💪
Seeing this for the first time, very cool from San Jose California❤
Do some of that
Thanks for this. Such an amazing video.
Highways England cannot manage a 2 inch deep pothole, let alone a historic structure like this bridge. Of course they ballsed it up, won’t be the last stupid thing they do either
This is an old video but thank god, i was worried
Standing upright, I would not fit under there.
Who came here from the beno video
Whilst the line was indeed fascinating, the howls of outrage over the closure and removal of it are a bit ridiculous. It's been disused for decades. The ferry terminal it served closed years ago. The rails make maintaining the roads more expensive and difficult. Suggestions for making it a heritage tramway are completely unrealistic as it doesn't go anywhere useful for tourism. It's gone, get over it.

Railway crossing or swing bridge
Its a swing bridge, it can't be a railway since trains do not go pass the bridge except if its connected with rails.
IT'S STILL OPEN! 😅
